Objectives of building the Big Buddha:
"1. To be a form of respect to the Buddha as Buhhhanu sati, the way of making merit, legend of the land, center of the mind, a communicating instrument to spread Buddha's Dharma to our mind and through society.
2. To commemorate the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the Kind Bhumibol Adulyadej's 80th Birthday Anniversary, December 5, 2007 as the royal charity.
3. To designate the Bubbhist park for mental development in daily life. The area around the Buddha statue can be designated as a place for plants relating to the Buddha's life.
4. To be a place for mental development, Samantha and Vipassana for wisdom and peace of people.

6. To establish the PhraphutthaMingmongkol Sattha 45 Foundation for the cultivation of the mind, to achieve a peaceful life and family of people as well as to maintain the institutions of the nation, religion, and the king concerned."
